What happens if I forget my access code?
You need to come by during our office hours and we’ll tell you your code. This information is given only to the renter of the unit upon presentation of proper ID.
Is there a minimum stay?
The minimum stay is 1 month.
What are CityBox hours of operation?
Access to your unit is available from 6:30AM to 11:00PM, 365 days / year.
Our front office is open during the following times:
Monday to Friday: 9:30AM to 5:30PM
Saturday: 9:00AM to 5:00PM
Sunday: 10:00AM to 4:00PM
Closed on all Statutory Holidays.
What is the difference between access hours and office hours?
Office Hours are when we have our front office staff on premises to be of assistance to you. Access Hours mean when you can enter the premises to access your storage unit.
What if I spill something or have an accident on the premises?
We understand that accidents can sometimes happen. But we ask you to be courteous and responsible and to please let us know immediately if you have spilled anything (wet or dry) or had an accident so that we can make sure our premises remain safe and that we can limit the risk to everyone else’s property.
What is the CityBox parcel reception service?
Can I change my mind after making a reservation?
You can cancel your reservation any time prior to the date you’ve selected as your move-in date on your reservation. Your reservation is directly forwarded to CityBox, so to request a cancellation you’ll need to contact us directly. Your confirmation email will have our contact information as well as your confirmation number – these items will make your cancellation easy.
How do I reserve my unit?
You can reserve your unit by calling us during office hours at (403) 252-2552 or by visiting our website www.cityboxstorage.ca and reserving online.
How much storage space will I need?
Please go to our homepage for a list of our unit sizes, including a summary of what will fit in each size. We’re happy to assist you in making this decision.
How often can I access my space? Does it cost extra?
You can access your unit as often as you wish anytime between the hours of 6:30AM and 11:00PM, 7 days a week. Unlike some other storage facilities, we do not place a limit on the number of times you are permitted to access your unit.
What happens if I want to move in at the middle of the month?
We understand that life doesn't always follow a set schedule. You can move in any time during the month that’s convenient for you!
How long can I keep my CityBox unit?
Your storage unit is rented month to month and does not have a fixed period of rental. Payments are to be made on the same day of each month after you move in. If you plan to leave, we would appreciate 7 days notice of cancellation prior to your next payment.
Where can I get boxes and moving supplies?
For your convenience, we are happy to offer a retail section that’s open during office hours. We have many different sizes and types of boxes available: book, small to large, wardrobe and mirror. We also have packing tape, box cutters, packing paper, bubble wrap and mattress covers and more.
Are there any items I am not able to store in my unit?
For everyone's safety, we do not permit the storage of explosives, firearms or ammunition, flammable liquids, toxic materials, illegal substances, food of any kind or perishables. Please contact our front office if you have any questions about a particular item.
Do you have trolleys and loading docks I can use at your facilities?
We have one drive-up loading bay as well as one standard loading dock. We also have plenty of carts, palette movers and hand trucks for your use and convenience within the premises.
Who else has access to my unit?
You are the only person who has access to your unit – it’s important to not share or let anyone know your access code. You choose and set your personal code, which will gain access to the building and arm / disarm the alarm in your unit. Your lock will be on your unit and only you will have the key.
What kind of lock do I need for my unit?
You can purchase new, high quality locks for sale in our front office or you can bring your own. You will be the only one with the key.
Are there any extra charges?
Generally, the only regular monthly charge you will have is the monthly rental of your CityBox unit. The only other charges would be if you wish to purchase additional insurance or retail items (locks, boxes, etc.).
How much does a CityBox unit cost?
CityBox offers very competitive prices for our units. The monthly cost of a particular CityBox unit is determined by several factors: size, location in the building and layout all figure into the price.
What if I choose the wrong size unit?
Don't worry if you discover that the unit you selected either online or in person is not the right size because we'll be happy to find you a suitable alternative.
How safe is CityBox?
CityBox has invested heavily in facility security. We have one of the highest camera-to-square-footage ratios in the business and each unit in our building is individually alarmed.
We have 24/7 monitored CCTV, access and exit control systems. Cameras are also located on the exterior of our building, as are security fences and bright lighting. Our dedicated CityBox staff also perform regular interior lock-integrity checks and walk-throughs.
What size are the CityBox storage units?
We have a wide variety of units to choose from. We call them Micro to X-Large, but the sizes are approximately:
- Micro: 3’x3’ (90cm x 90cm)
- Small: 5' x 5' (1.5m x 1.5m)
- Medium: 5' x 10' (1.5m x 3m)
- Large 10' x 10' (3m x 3m)
- X-Large 10' x 15' and 10' x 20' (3m x 4.6m and 3m x 6.1m)
